Instructions

Templates

The template folder includes one Dreamweaver template (.dwt file) and sample pages created from the templates (.htm files). The sample template folders also include image files that appear on the templates (.gif or .jpg files, located in the images folder).

Graphics

Blank button, company name and column headline graphics are provided. These are found in the images folder. Import the needed graphics into your graphics program (Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Image Composer, etc.) to modify them. For the column headlines graphic, if the program allows, place it in a layer, making additional layers for the words. Display each word layer, one at a time, plus the background layer, save the newly modified headlines as .gifs, and export into the template. The same principle is used for the buttons.

OR use the Fireworks editable .png files found in the PNGs folder. If you do not have Fireworks, a free trial copy is available from Macromedia. With the .png files the color of the graphics can be easily changed. The button file is already in layers.

Tip: Give the new graphics the same file names as the original graphics in the template, letting them override the original graphics in the images folder. This way they will automatically fall into place in the template. After the new graphics are in the images folder, rename the files to make more sense for your site.

The font used for the company name was Pump Demi Bold LET.

Navigation

The buttons are JavaScript rollover images, the code generated within Dreamweaver. In a graphics program create two versions of each button, an "on" and and "off" version. Create the JavaScript in Dreamweaver by going to Insert > Interactive Images > Rollover Images. Blank black and purple buttons are provided in the images folder.

All text navigation is text formatted using CSS.

Library Items

The text boxes are library items. Open the library item page via Window > Library. Double click on the item. Make changes on that page. They will automatically show up on every site page containing that item. Formatting does not display on the library page, but will show up on the website page.
